Cannock Chase Council is supporting Love Parks Week 2026, running from 24 July to 2 August. Parks and green spaces across the district will join hundreds of locations nationwide in the annual celebration.

Love Parks Week highlights the role parks play in supporting healthy communities, protecting the environment and bringing people together. It also recognises those who care for and maintain these spaces.

Free activities across the district

A range of free activities will take place throughout the week, including bee walks, heath activities and nature events for all ages. Walks on Hednesford Hills require advance booking.

Residents are encouraged to explore their local green spaces and take part in activities that help protect and enhance them, from small community gardens to larger parks and nature reserves.

Health and wellbeing benefits

Regular use of parks contributes more than £34 billion annually to health and wellbeing nationally and helps save the NHS over £111 million each year through reduced GP visits alone.

Councillor John Parkes, Portfolio Leader for Operational Services and Parks, said: "Love Parks Week is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the beautiful green spaces we have here in Cannock Chase and the positive impact they have on our residents' health and wellbeing. Our parks and open spaces are an important part of the local community, providing places for people to relax, stay active and connect with nature."
