Cannock Chase District Council has launched a consultation asking residents and businesses to comment on proposals to extend the Pride in Place funding boundary across parts of Chadsmoor and the surrounding area.
Lynn Harley-Biggs has been appointed Chair of the newly created Chadsmoor Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board. Harley-Biggs is known in the community through involvement with the Friends of Cannock Stadium.
About the boundary extension
The proposed extension to the funding boundary would include the high street. Council officials say the expansion aims to better reflect community connections, local needs and areas that could benefit from future investment.
The scheme has £20m in funding available. Pride in Place supports projects and initiatives that improve local neighbourhoods, strengthen communities and create opportunities for residents.
Richard Craddock, Deputy Leader of the Council, said: "This is an important opportunity for residents to help shape future plans within our community. We want to ensure that the funding boundary reflects the areas that identify with and can benefit from the programme."
Josh Newbury MP said residents have already made clear in conversations about the scheme that they want the boundary extended to include what they see as the heart of Chadsmoor, particularly the high street. "The final boundary needs to be agreed soon, but the Neighbourhood Board cannot make that decision without hearing from the community," Newbury added.

Residents, businesses and community groups are invited to review the boundary proposals and share their views on the consultation.
