Who the group is for

The group's flyer describes a friendly, informal gathering for anyone affected by cancer. People living with cancer, undergoing treatment or recovering are welcome, as are those supporting a partner or family member or caring for someone.

Tea, biscuits and conversation are part of the plans. The group offers a chance to meet people who understand, find friendship and hear about local services and support.

The flyer carries the message: “You don't have to go through it alone.” There is no pressure to talk about cancer, and people are welcome to come as they are.

About the launch

Local organiser Luan Randall is starting Brighter Days Norton Canes and contacted Cannock Gazette to help residents find the group. The flyer says meetings will take place every two weeks after the first session on 19 October.

The venue's address and general contact details are listed on Staffordshire County Council's library page. For information about the library itself, its publicly listed number is 01543 279592.

Meeting details are taken from the organiser's supplied launch flyer.
